Liberty or Death
Our right to privacy has been under attack for far too long but we have a chance to change that now. FISA section 702 is currently under debate in Congress and is a byproduct of the patriot act that continues to this day. It enables the federal government to incidentally collect all of our communications. Before AI, no human could go through all of the data. Now, they can use AI models to parse through it all. Intelligence agencies, contractors, and police departments hope to use this unconstitutional data for “predictive policing”, to arrest people before they even commit crimes. Mass surveillance of this scale leads to the dystopias we read about; it is no longer science fiction. But we can have a direct impact on this right now. Please call your congressmen and congresswomen to demand action. If you are curious to learn more about this I have included articles from a neutral, liberal, and conservative bias. And also included the message I left my federal representatives.

My Message
Hello. My name is Stephen. I am a freedom loving American and one that supports our veterans and gold star families that have made the ultimate sacrifice. They die to protect our freedoms but those freedoms have been under siege since the passing of the patriot act. The Snowden leaks demonstrated how the intelligence agencies constantly spy on Americans by conducting “U.S. person queries”.
With FISA Section 702 set to expire, this is the time for serious reform to take our freedoms back. The way it currently operates in practice is in violation of the 4th amendment. Further protections for a U.S. citizen’s privacy has to be put into place. Will you stand for the liberties and freedoms that our service men and women protect? Or will you piss on the flag and vote yes without any reforms?
My generation, Gen Z, sees the failures of this government to protect our freedoms and the efforts of this current administration to give all of our information to companies like Palantir. If you value our constitution and love this country fight for our liberties. There are two options, liberty or death. Patrick Henry knew that when he famously said “give me liberty or give me death”. Do you know that?
